  • PlatinumCode Launches New Responsive E-Commerce Website

PlatinumCode’s new website aims to capture more than just desktop users with a fully responsive design built on one of the most powerful e-commerce platforms

MINNEAPOLIS, May 7, 2015 – PlatinumCode, a leading manufacturer and supplier of specimen identification and collection products for the healthcare industry, announced today that it has officially launched a new fully responsive, e-commerce website. According to Marty Griffith, PlatinumCode’s President, the new website is perfectly aligned with the company’s brand and strategic vision for growth in the years to come.

“We are a 25-year old company, yet we recognized the need to keep innovating and to bring forth a better platform for our customers to make more educated purchases,” Griffith explained, “and we believe our new website will help achieve just that.”

The new PlatinumCode website offers a clean, cutting edge design, with product-specific landing pages that speak to the features and benefits of the product, as well as the variety of packaging options the customer has. The site, built on one of the most advanced and respected e-commerce platforms, gives existing customers the ability to manage their online accounts, quickly re-order items they have previously ordered, track orders, request quotes, and request free samples. For the potential customers, the site gives in depth descriptions of products lines to assist in making even more educated purchases. In addition to creating a new account, potential customers will also have the ability to request quotes and request free samples.

“PlatinumCode’s vision for the site was to have a strong focus on educating and a secondary focus on e-commerce,” Ron Griffith, PlatinumCode’s Chief Revenue Officer, stated, “We have seen so many sites, including our previous site, that simply listed healthcare products without providing the actual benefits that patients and healthcare employees will see, which is not typically what healthcare professionals trust in making purchasing decisions.”

The new website is fully responsive, which means that the site automatically adjusts its size depending on the device being used, whether the user is using a desktop PC, mobile phone, or tablet.

“Although our traffic is primarily visiting our site using a PC, we have seen an increase in traffic using phones and tablets,” said Ron Griffith, “and a responsive site will allow for the growth of that traffic to have a better overall site experience, which is extremely valuable to us.”

The launch of the website has also come at a milestone year for PlatinumCode, as they celebrate their 25th year in business this year.

“We opened our doors in 1990 as Interstate Paper Company, selling strictly paper and labels. We have definitely come a long way in 25 years, adding new product lines, re-branding, building our sales team, and now launching what we believe will be an amazing sales tool,” Marty Griffith said.

For a second year in a row, PlatinumCode will support breast cancer research with pink products

MINNEAPOLIS, September 18, 2014 – PlatinumCode, a leading manufacturer and supplier of specimen identification, transport and collection products for the healthcare industry, announced earlier this month that they have committed to donate five percent of their profits of the sale of eligible pink products to breast cancer research. In making the announcement, PlatinumCode has launched various marketing efforts to help support the cause, including providing clinical and hospital labs with their popular “Pink Packs” of samples.

PlatinumCode has been busy packing up Pink Pack sample packs since mid-August and continues to send them on a daily basis to clinical and hospital labs. The free of charge Pink Packs contain the recipient’s choice of magenta tourniquets, pink pediatric tourniquets, pink cohesive bandage, pink nitrile gloves, and disposable pink lab coats or jackets. PlatinumCode also included a pink-ribbon retractable badge holder for hospital and clinic staff as a small gift. Pink-Packs can be requested online at www.platinumcode.us or over the phone at 888.446.9965.

“The Pink-Packs are not only a wonderful way to get our quality products in front of our customers and potential customers, but a great way to spread awareness for such a great cause.” explained Chad Falkenborg, PlatinumCode Sales Manager, “And this year – they (Pink Packs) are flying off the shelves!”

In 2013 PlatinumCode indicated record-breaking sales for the month of October from the sale of pink products, making their donation greater than anticipated. This year, PlatinumCode has a goal to nearly double their donation.

“We get really excited about supporting such a great cause and want to do everything we can to help, and what better way to spread awareness than having health care professionals use pink products?” explained Ron Griffith, PlatinumCode CRO. “We are really hoping to see a huge leap in our donation this year, and have plans to nearly double it.”

PlatinumCode has not yet indicated which charitable research organization their donation will go towards, yet plans to find an organization with a strong focus on research and more than 90 percent of their budget going towards program expenses.

PlatinumCode plans to distribute a new Specimen Collection Product Catalog featuring new products while exhibiting at AACC for the second year in a row

PlatinumCode has secured a larger 10’x20’ booth this year, doubling its previous size, due to the large amount of traffic in Houston in 2013.

PlatinumCode C.R.O., Ron Griffith explained, "2013 was our first time exhibiting at the Clinical Lab Expo and we found a very welcoming and overwhelming response to our specimen collection and identification products. We decided this year to increase our booth size as well as launch an all new specimen collection product catalog, which we feel will better represent our brand and growth.”

PlatinumCode’s new specimen collection product catalog features tourniquets, cohesive bandages, nitrile gloves, specimen transport bags, disposable lab coats and jackets, lancets, and heel sticks. PlatinumCode is currently redesigning their identification product catalog featuring labels for the clinical laboratory, pharmacy, admitting and materials management departments in healthcare facilities.

“Our new catalog is really focused,” said Griffith, “We really wanted to focus on our core products and allow for our customers to really see all of the versatility that our products do have, such as bright colors, various sizes, and cuttingedge features. We also just launched infant tourniquets which have had a great response.”

PlatinumCode launched infant tourniquets in response to customer demand earlier this year and plan to showcase them while in Chicago. The tourniquets measure one-half-inch wide by nine inches long and are available in both blue and purple. • PlatinumCode Launches New, Improved, Ultra-Thin Nitrile Gloves

New nitrile exam gloves offer superior protection with ultra-thin 0.03g material

MINNEAPOLIS, March 31, 2014 – PlatinumCode, a leading manufacturer and supplier of specimen identification, transport and collection products for the healthcare industry, announced that they have launched a new and improved line of ultra-thin nitrile exam gloves. The latex-free and powder-free gloves were manufactured to offer superior stretch and to improve the safety of healthcare employees and patients.

As a manufacturer of nitrile gloves, PlatinumCode wanted to dramatically improve the overall construction of the glove – starting with the thickness.

PlatinumCode Vice President of Sales, Steve Griffith explained, "Because most of our gloves are used by phlebotomists, we wanted to specifically cater to their needs. Their feedback indicated that gloves need to not only be extremely safe, easy to put on, and protect against injuries, but also thin enough to feel an infants pulse – and we believe we achieved just that.”

PlatinumCode will offer Nitrile exam gloves in five sizes and are ambidextrous to make for easy donning. The gloves feature an ultra-thin construction (.03g thick), with nitrile construction for extra protection, and superior stretch for nearly zero tear. Gloves also feature textured fingertips for better grip, yet also allow for excellent pulse-finding capabilities.

“Over the years, we have manufactured a large number of gloves and have also tried the competition, and we have found this glove to really have all of the features we had hoped for – the ultimate in protection, ultra-thin construction and excellent stretch,” said Griffith, “Overall, we are very excited to officially launch these.”

PlatinumCode officially launched the gloves today, March 31, 2014 and they are available for purchase on www.platinumcode.us or by calling 888.446.9965 (item number 3037NB).

  • PlatinumCode Caters to Birthing and Pediatric Departments by Offering the First Pressure-activated Safety Heel Stick for Infants on the Market

MINNEAPOLIS, February 19, 2014 – PlatinumCode, a leading manufacturer and supplier of specimen identification, transport and collection products for the healthcare industry, announced that they have added pediatric pressure-activated safety heel stick devices to their line-up. The pressure-activated safety heel stick device is the first of its kind and will be sold to hospitals and pediatric departments in the United States.

As a result of PlatinumCode customer demand seeking a quality safety heel stick device, typically for the use in newborn screenings, the decision to offer the product line was easy.

In making the announcement, PlatinumCode Vice President of Marketing, Ron Griffith explained, "PlatinumCode is thrilled to now offer a safety heel stick device for infants, and we found the quality and safety of this line to be exceptional.”

PlatinumCode will now offer pressure-activated heel stick devices in four sizes and colors, all ranging in blade depth. Each heel stick device features a usage indicator and activation mechanism. The heel stick design is patented, FDA approved and ISO 9001, 14001 and 13485 certified. Each heel stick device is blister packed and sterilized.

“With nearly our entire staff being a parent, we loved the idea of a heel stick device that would deliver a consistent and controlled incision – resulting in less pain for the infants,” said Griffith, “Plus the blades deactivate after use, so cross-contamination is completely out of the question.”

The heel stick devices are pressure-activated, allowing for an easier and quicker procedure than those heel stick devices that require a button push or pre-loading.

“The medical professionals who are performing the heel stick procedure are typically dealing with a kicking foot, this heel stick will allow for one hand to hold the foot, and one to hold the heel stick – a huge improvement from other heel sticks on the market today,” said PlatinumCode Sales Manager, Chad Falkenborg.

PlatinumCode launched the pressure-activated safety heel sticks earlier in 2014 and has already seen a great demand for them. PlatinumCode also added pressure-activated safety lancets respectively.

In making the announcement, PlatinumCode President Marty Griffith explained, "After expanding our product offerings to include even more quality healthcare consumables, we better understood the value that laboratory departments saw in the quality of our products. The move was absolutely necessary to accommodate for the demand for better products from healthcare facilities across the country.”
