The Breast Cancer Research Fund will receive five percent of profits from the sale of PlatinumCode’s pink products
MINNEAPOLIS, November 6, 2013 – PlatinumCode, a leading manufacturer and supplier of specimen identification, transport and collection products for the healthcare industry, announced mid-September that they had committed 5 percent of their profits on the sale of eligible pink products to support breast cancer awareness. In making the announcement, PlatinumCode launched various marketing efforts to help support the cause, resulting in a boost in the sale of pink items.
As of Thursday, October 31, PlatinumCode indicated record-breaking sales for the company – resulting in a larger than anticipated donation to PlatinumCode’s charity of choice, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Because PlatinumCode is privately held, dollar figures will stay private.
“We saw a huge leap in the sale of pink items - starting late September - and we are happy to announce that our donation will be larger than we initially expected,” said PlatinumCode Vice President of Sales, Steve Griffith.
PlatinumCode chose to donate to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, a foundation focused on providing critical funding for innovative clinical and translational research at leading medical centers worldwide. The Breast Cancer Research Foundation currently directs 91 cents of every dollar towards breast cancer research and awareness programs.
“The decision to donate to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation came to us after extensive research on charitable organizations,” said PlatinumCode Vice President of Marketing, Ron Griffith, “We were very impressed by their devotion to the cause as well as their commitment to public accountability and social responsibility.”
